Secret messages to people in today's meeting

  • To the person with selective hearing: Why don't you try actually listening to ALL the words and the tone of the speaker and maybe better understand what the person is saying. It is not OK to make inferences and take things out of context when you comment on what a person says.
  • To the person with multiple personalities: Pick one and stick with it for a while. I can't keep up with your constantly changing opinions and contradictory comments.
  • To the person who talks constantly while others are talking: STOP! If what you have to say is so important (it isn't, no one cares what you did in high school) say it out loud.
  • To all the people who speak in acronyms: Please mention from time to time what the #$$% you are talking about. I'm lost.
  • To whom it may concern: Today's meeting was a total waste of our time. What was the purpose and why did I have to be there???

I'm sorry, I know the meeting was awful, but I had to laugh at your post. I think I've seen my future...

I am sorry, too. But if you wrote this post during the meeting, then it wasn't a complete waste of time, because you turned it into entertainment. And if you didn't write it during the meeting, then maybe next time you should. You know, look all thoughtful like you're taking notes of important stuff you don't want to forget - which, of course, you are. Because you need to remember it all to tell us. That was really hilarious.

Oh, you're in orientation, aren't you? It's a great time to make lists, write letters, and catch up on sleep.

I alsways escape into fantasy during those meetings. Or, text message someone.

This was hilarious! I hate when people speak in their own acronyms. Hope you figure them out

I will have to take detailed notes for the next one since you will be out of town and I promise to share every excruciating moment with you! So who will be there to kick me under the table and tell me to be quiet so I don't get myself in trouble?

These meetings are such a waste of time. Faculty at colleges and universities everywhere seem to agree. So, how come we all have to go to them? My meetings are this coming week. Yuck.
